One of the most famous (and most private) courses in the world, Cypress Point is arguably Alister MacKenzie's most famous design. The public is not welcome at this course, but you can get a taste of MacKenzie's thoughts about Cypress Point in the book "The Spirit of St. Andrews," which is available in hardcover and paperback.

15, 16, and 17 are 3 of the best holes in the world, no doubt. I loved everything about the course. It was pure joy to walk it, there were no other groups around, we had fabulous weather. Absolutely perfect in every way.

It's everything you ever dreamed it would be and then some. The green fee was ony $50 + caddy tip, by the way. If that isn't the best value course in the world I don't know what is.
Having played 30 of the top 100 golf courses in the world, I didn't think anything could ever top Pebble Beach, but Cypress Point does-easily I might add. It's a round I'll never forget. The thrill of walking past the 400 year old Cypress trees on 14 only to turn the corner onto the 15th tee box and view of the 16th peninsula is truly undescribable. I wish everyone could play it just once. It truly is a treasure that should be enjoyed by all!
