Here is a rarity - a Donald Ross-designed course that is open to the public.
Ross did the design in the late 1920s, but the project was abandoned in 1929 due to the Great Depression. Construction began again in 1932 as a WPA project; by the time the course opened in 1938, more than $1 million had been spent. The course is named for George Wright, a baseball HOFer and an original member of the Cincinnati Reds; Wright is credited by some as having helped introduce golf to the Boston area around the turn of the century.
