Nationally and internationally renowned, Royal St David's is one of Wales' premier golf courses and is often rated 'Best golf course in North Wales'. It provides a challenging test of golf in a breathtaking setting in the most beautiful and scenic part of the Principality and dominated by the brooding presence of Harlech Castle.

Established in 1894, Royal St David's Golf Club is the home of one of the finest traditional links courses in the world. The undulating fairways and fast true greens are all that would be expected of a championship links course. This is why the course at Royal St.David's Golf Club is regularly ranked within the top 50 courses in the 'Top 100 Courses in Great Britain & Ireland'.

AN EXCELLENT COURSE WINTER OR SUMMER. SUPERB CONDITION AND SPECTACULAR VIEWS. PEACEFUL TOO WITH NO MOTORWAYS ……NEAREST MUST BE 30 MILES AWAY! A REAL GEM BUT TOUGH TOO TO TEST ANY GOOD GOLFER.

Great links course. Superb views over Snowdonia and the line off the eighth tee is Snowdon itself. Super condition and excellent catering at very reasonable prices. Good driving essential as rough is penal.

excellent links at its best.. watch out for the last few holes.. they can bite back..

This is an inland links course, which means you never actually get sight of the sea! The entrance is very strange - you feel like you park in a train station car park - and then cross the level crossing to the clubhouse.
everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Changing rooms were modern with all the facilities.
The front 9 was flatter and, although some long par 4 holes which do require some long hitting, gave a great chance to score well. Ladies Tees were sensible and with added shots gave my wife a very fair chance of winning (which she did!).
The back 9 uses the sand dunes more and was more difficult - and had views inland to Snowdonia and the castle was alwyays in sight over the 18 holes.

Some green were a little patchy, but that would be nit-picking as the course was generally very well maintained. The wind was not too strong when we played.
still a quality course.

I am writing this review 1 week after playing and as someone else said, if you judge a course by how many holes you can remember afterwards, then this would not rate that high as I can remember maybe half.
This was definately a better course overall than Porthmadog that we played the following day. Would I travel 200 miles to play it again - probably not. it is not a Turnberry or St George's. But then again neither is the price! But I would play again if in the area.

This is an absolute quality course. Not the best views, but exceptionally well maintained and a great test. However if you judge a course by how many holes you can remember afterwards, then this would note rate that high

I have just returned from Harlech today after playing this gem in the sun and with the lightest of onshore breezes. I found the course in brilliant condition apart from some very soggy bunkers following a tremendous storm from 2 days before.
This is definitely a thinking golfers course, and has some really long par 4s into the prevailing wind.

Definitely worthwhile travelling 200+ miles to play, which sort of says it all.

On a sunny evening no better place to play. A real challenge from start to finish and an exceptional closing stretch.
