As described, this is definately a course of 2 halfs (literally - seperated by the quiet main road). A quite average parkland half to start with and the greens when we played were in average condition (May 2013) and then a beautiful links 9 that took you into the dunes and to the sea shore.
Some quirky holes as you would expect on the back 9 (blind drives, short par 4's) and the wind was blowing when we played so it had some defence.

After 9 holes we were a little disappointed (despite scoring well) - but after the full 18 we thought the course was OK. Not as nice in views - or conditions - as Royal St David's we had played the day before.
The course got quite busy with some societies\ group teeing off but pace of play was good - no hold ups.
The pro shop has a great collection of gear at very reasonable prices.
And the food and drink is above average.
Worth a visit if doing a few courses in the area.

What a little gem. Admittedly we had glorious weather during our society visit there, with a gentle breeze. I can imagine it getting quite wild if the wind starts to blow. The front nine are a relatively easy walkimg parkland style, with mountain views, however even with a gentle breeze they can be testing holes. The back nine, well, thats where the fun begins and the scenery transforms. You are surrounded by wonderful land and sea scapes. Each hole presents its own little challenge. Well worth a day out or even an overnighter if you can find accommodation. Fantastic, what a real gem this is.
