Introduced in 1998, the DCI ("Direct Center Impact") 981 wedges were cast from heat-treated 431 stainless steel. The top-lines were rounder and slightly thicker than on Titleist's DCI 990 clubs.

W: 51° loft, 9° bounce, 64° lie, 0.70" offset, D3 swingweight
SW: 55° loft, 14° bounce, 64° lie, 0.40" offset, D5 swingweight
