Electric linear actuators all the way for rooftop trackers – super easy install, no fluid leaks, low power, and most have built-in Hall or pot feedback for precise sun tracking (even 1-2° off can cost you 5-10% daily yield). Size them 2-3× the calculated load for wind gusts (a 3×4 m array can see 1000+ kg force in a storm). Micro-drives only for tiny setups; go standard heavy-duty for anything real.
One thing nobody mentioned: trackers add a ton of new roof penetrations and movement stress. Make sure your roof is 100% sealed first or you’ll be chasing leaks forever.
