The former Columbus Country Club dates to 1923, but was purchased by East Mississippi Community College and renamed Lion Hills Golf Club. It is now open for daily-fee play for the community.
The club is also now the site of the college's Turf Management, Hotel-Restaurant Management, and Culinary Arts programs, which saved the cost of building a commensurate 20,000 square-foot facility.
