This 18-hole course is owned by Shawnee County and opened in 1972 with a design by Larry Flatt; architect Craig Schreiner has also done some design work since it opened. The standard adult walking rates are $17 on weekdays, $22 on weekends and holidays (carts are $14). Student, junior, senior, 9-hole, and twilight discounts are available, as are annual passes.

In Topeka for a wedding and played Lake Shawnee with my brother. It was extremely hot and humid but course was not difficult to walk. Pace of play was kind of slow due to the foursome of "bachelor party" players in front of us, but overall the course was very nice and a good value for the money.
