Forbes GC is in danger of closing; after an initial announcement of closure in 2013, County comissioners relented and will allow the course to remain open at least until June of 2014.

This 9-hole public course is owned by Shawnee County and is located on Topeka's south side, in the Montara neighborhood just west of Forbes Field. Architect Bob E. Baldock designed the course, which opened in 1951. The 18-hole walking rate is $11 (carts are $14).
