Cabot Cliffs
18 Cabot Lane
Inverness, NS B0E 1N0, Canada

Mike Keiser, the man who developed the nearby Cabot Links course, is developing a second course on Cape Breton Island, a few miles north of the Links. Cabot Cliffs is expected to open in 2015 with a design by the retro-traditionalist team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Also on the architecture team will be Rod Whitman, the architect behind Cabot Links, which is regarded by many critics as the best course in all of Canada.

The closing three holes will be, in order, a par-3 with a cliff-hanger tee-box, a par-4, then an oceanside par-5.

Can't see spending $400 on a round of golf. I live in Niagara Falls area, and many of our quality courses would be ranked #1 in Canada if they were perched on the ocean. Cabot Cliffs design, quality, greens, etc... are oversold because of the views.
Watch out with the Caddy's. I ordered a "B" caddy to carry my bag, I was introduced to him as such, but then he took me hostage on the 5th or 6th hole saying he is actually an "A" Caddy, and explained the difference in price. I felt trapped and obligated, so I paid him the "A" Caddy rate, then he says, "that doesn't include tip".

Emailed and called Ted Stonehouse (Director of Golf), and have never received a call back. Snobbiest, poorest customer experience for an "exclusive" place.

Take your $400 and play 4x at a nice, polite course in your area. No need to come out here to be treated like trash.

The course is fantastic. The people are really friendly and nice but they need to speed up the restaurants and dial it into golf. They will get there. The courses are superb and I like them better than Bandon which I think is also a fantastic resort. We went last year and played both Links and Cliffs. Will go back again this year and we are a 5 hour flight away with some driving. I think that says how much we like it.

Wow. This is Cabot Links on steroids. Best course I have ever played !!

I played the course in preview: several fairways were still having work done: fairways installed and finished, grass management, and most importantly green finishing. Putting aside the above, the course was an engaging challenge. I think when opened it will be a beguiling and thrilling round that sits among the top courses worldwide.

Coore and Crenshaw's design provided a huge variety of looks. I used every club in the bag and never felt the challenge was unfair.

Unlike the "links" sibling, this course isn't a philosophical extension of true Scots-Irish linksland golf. The course sits high on a palisade. It feels quite similar to Pebble Beach, but provides more variety: four holes snake into the woods, several holes navigate through wetlands.

Put it on your bucket list. The overall experience is great and promises to get even better.
