This course is advertised as Canada's first authentic links course; it is located on an old coal mine on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence near Inverness, on Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island. Cabot Links was designed by Canadian architect Rod Whitman and stretches from 3,733 to 6,803 yards (par 70).
A caddy service is available, along with a pro shop and attached lodging. The walking rate for resort guests is C$110, while non-guests pay C$130. Cape Breton resident, twilight, and replay discounts are available. Contact via toll-free telephone from Canada and the U.S. is also available at 855.652.2268.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise that Mike Keiser, a devotee of traditionalist golf architecture and the man behind the Bandon Dunes and Barnbougle Dunes resorts, was one of the developers of Cabot Links.
And in a delicious bit of news, Keiser has announced that a second course — Cabot Cliffs — will be built on Cape Breton Island, designed by the notable traditionalist architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.

Exceptionally beautiful course. I agree with the others that this is as close to Ireland as you can get in Canada. I love Whistling Straits and I love this just as much and maybe more. Cabot Cliff is even better!!! Cant wait for full opening next year.
The hotel is very nice. The rooms are basic but the beds, linens and bathrooms very good.

Played links courses in Ireland and this course is as close as you can get without travelling to the Emerald Isle. Take a caddy as without one you will be guessing a lot and they definitely add to the experience. Wonderful staff very friendly and accommodating, we asked about Cabot Cliffs when we we talked to the Pro and the Director of golf was waiting for us at the 18th green to take us on a tour of Cabot Cliffs. The Cliffs will be equally as impressive, this will become the must visit golf destination in Eastern Canada.

Scottish style. I played in Scotland before and this course worth the long distance for travel. Hope they will set it for gps devices. Heard they will not :-(. A bit costly at the shop for souvenirs. People there told me they are building a second course: the Cabot Cliff. It will be more amazing then the Cabot Links.

True Links course - a unique experience if you haven't played a links course. No power carts allowed.
