Golfklúbbur Hellu ("Hella Golf Club"), a.k.a. Golf Course Strandarvöllur, was founded in 1952. Its 9 hole golf course was originally on the property of Gaddastadir on river Ytri Ranga until 1958, when it had to be moved. The current course opened in 1970 on the former Strönd farm.
The standard adult walking rate is ISK 5,000; carts are also ISK 5,000. Couples and junior rates are also offered, as are memberships. Members of Golofklubbur Reykjavikur, the oldest golf club in Iceland, also have access to the course.
