Phillips Park Golf Course
1001 Hill Ave
Aurora, IL 60505-3880, United States

This large recreation complex and adjoining zoo were named in honor of mayor and local businessman Travis Phillips; the course debuted in the mid 1920s, but was largely rebuilt in 1938. Architect Greg Martin oversaw a major redesign and expansion of the course, which re-opened in July of 2001 and now includes a three-hole academy course.

The standard walking rates are $30 on weekdays, $36 on weekends and holidays (carts are $14). Sliding twilight, 9-hole, junior, senior, clergy, and military rates are available, as are a variety of season passes and web specials.

A great public course. Enjoyed the layout. Was a different tract compared to the ones I play in the Dallas area.

Pace of play is good on weekdays. Leagues most weekday evenings. Get here before 4 PM.

Front 9 is mostly flat and forgiving. Back 9 is more rolling terrain.

Good price to value. Greens were fairly true and not to fast. Bunkers in good shape.

Driving range and putting green available. Also has 3 holes for kids
to play.

Water stations about every 3rd hole.
Walk-able course, but back 9 is somewhat hilly.
Small pro shop and snack bar. Check out O'Malleys next to the course for a burger and beer to add up the scores.

Staff seemed mostly indifferent.

Greens in great shape. Too expensive for a muni course ($46 w/cart)
