Two wild-and-tumbling courses are part of this facility, which overlooks Lake Michigan. In fact, the resort will host the 2015 PGA Championship and the 2020 Ryder Cup matches.

The standard fee for the Straits course is $270 (caddies are available), while the Irish course is priced at $190 (carts are $30).

The resort's toll-free telephone number is 855.444.2838.

Expensive, but worth it. The most difficult and beautiful course you will ever see. Today we had 30mph winds and 40 mph gusts to make it that much more difficult. It kicked my butt, but it was the most fun I have ever had golfing.

Played it twice, great time!!!

I've only been playing since 2007, so I haven't experienced a lot but this was my best golf experience yet. Every hole was unique and beautiful. If I hit a bad shot I didn't care, I was golfing the Irish course at Whistling Straits and soaking it in. The only let down was the food at the bar. Let's just say I couldn't chew the chicken so I sent it back and went for a burger, when I tasted that I wanted the chicken back.

I am sure there could be more amazing settings for a course but I have never experienced one, as I am sure that there are harder golf courses but this has been it for me. Truly a bucket list experience but at a bucket list price. Only complaint was that the required caddies were good, not great - expected better.

If i could play the Augusta National or Whistling Straits tomorrow, I would play Whistling Straits. I have played them both.
