Pete Dye's River Course here has been included in the various lists of top 100 courses in the United States almost from the day it opened in 1988. The resort also gained international attention when Se Ri Pak won the very memorable 1998 U.S. Women's Open here. In 2012, Na Yeon Choi captured her first major here at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open.

Unlike most of the other courses in those top 100 lists, Blackwolf Run is very much open to the public. The standard fee is $270; twilight and 9-hole rates are also offered.
