Lionhead Golf & Country Club

Brampton, ON L6Y 0C1, Canada

This 36-hole facility features two courses designed by Ted Baker, with Ohio sand in the bunkers, plenty of water, and bent grass tee-to-green.

Carved into a spectacular 520 acres of inspired natural terrain, The Legends and Masters courses at Lionhead feature championship designs that blend beautifully with the grand natural splendour of the meadows, ravines, wetlands, forests, rivers, and foliage.

Golf Digest (May 2000) ranked the Legends course as the third toughest in all of North America; even today the Black tees are rated 77.5 with the USGA's maximum slope rating of 155. The Masters Course is no pushover, either; the Black tees come in at 75.3 / 146.

Listed as the hardest course in Canada, there are a lot of forced carries and elevation changes. Yes the signage is a little poor, but the pathing is not that bad.

Great Course, a little pricey and the
food is not so good..

I really enjoyed playing Lionhead Masters. Never felt rushed and was never held up.
I think the price is a little high (but a better value from golfnow.com).
I do have to wonder the logic in closing the food/drink station before 3:30 on a saturday and I think we only saw the beverage cart once in 18 holes!!!

Great course..still one of the toughest courses in the greater Toronto area.

I was not impressed with this course based on the hype and price. We were rushed out by the starter ahead of our time leaving our second group two times behind us. They started us on the back 9 which I did not like either. Many holes have no real landing area and are just awkward. The skycaddie SGX did not show the holes properly for at least 5 of the holes on the course either. Would not play this one again.
