Architect Donald Steel designed this course, which opened in 2001 about 30 minutes' drive from Edinburgh, immediately south of the late 19th-century Kilspindie golf links. This course shares the flavor and appearance of several nearby traditional links courses, such as Kilspindie, North Berwick, Gullane, and the private Muirfield course. Craigielaw includes practice facilities and a clubhouse.

Visitors, societies, and corporate groups are welcome.

Once the course matures it will be fantastic really enjoyed playing it.

The elevated greens were not typical of the traditional links, and the reception we received, left waiting for more than 10 minutes meant we walked out.

Not worth the travel as the welcome you get from the pro shop is shocking!!

Would not return....

Really well set up course with well placed deep set bunkers; great views lovely surroundings and a real test of golf especially when the links winds get up!

Has bedded in pretty well since opening 10 years ago. Greens let the course downd slightly. Lots of jumping [utts from all our group. Otherwise an enjoyable experience on a perfectly calm day.

Played it in the 'hurricane' of Sep 12th - brutal (unless driving downwind) physically ... at least it did not rain !! Now I understand The Open needs wind to separate the Champions from the also rans. Exposed, open, typical Links course overlooking the Firth. Alot of close criss-crossing holes and it is not always clear where to go. Despite the above, enjoyable.

Had just dressed the greens when we arrived so not in good condition. Really tough greens to hit & hold lots of undulations. Very warm welcome from the Pro who talked us through the course. Quite a new course but once estbalished will be great.

great course - v good greens, great test with choices of how to play each hole. Wind can be fiendish as can the bunkers. Marvellous views and superb practice facilities
