Aviara Golf Club
7447 Batiquitos Dr
Carlsbad, CA 92011-4732, United States

760.603.6900
The host site of the LPGA's Kia Classic, Aviara GC is part of the Park Hyatt Aviara resort and includes the Kip Puterbaugh Aviara Golf Academy. Designed by Arnold Palmer's golf architecture firm, this 18-hole course runs through three valleys near the Batiquitos Lagoon, which is home to more than 130 species of shorebirds, waterfowl and a variety of natural vegetation. In fact, it took nearly a decade to develop this course because of ecological concerns. The designers and builders took care to preserve these environmentally important wetlands. For example, the course uses recycled water for 95% of its irrigation needs. Native wildflowers grow to the edge of the expansive fairways and greens; and cascading waterfalls and streams are among the water hazards positioned as visual extensions of the lagoon.

Facilities include a practice range, putting and pitching greens, a GPS system on all carts, and a 32,000 square-foot Spanish Colonial-style clubhouse.

Green fees are $225/round Monday through Thursday, then $235/round Friday through Sunday.

Pace has approached 5 hours for the past 3 days. Aerated greens today (4 of them) with no notification to players. Rangers really don't do much other than say hello.
Great scenery. Greens very difficult until you have played on them a few time.

AMAZING views... Excellent Condition... Although quite overpriced....

Can't wait to come back here. A number of blind shots where it is helpful to have played the course so you can truly gauge the hazards. Loved the par 3's - beautiful, challenging but fair. The fairways are generous but length is deceptive because of hilly terrain. Add and little wind and you have a true test. Greens are large with many subtle breaks. A number of them had been punched and sanded. With one exception, staff was extremely helpful and hospitable. And one of the few courses in SoCal where they actually have playable bunkers. A must play!

Great layout, unbelievable landscaping. Hole #11 is like playing in a botanical garden! Only issue was the extremely slow pace of play. Ranger finally bumped me in front of a slow group (thanks!) but quickly ran into another wall of slow play.

A beautiful course, very scenic. Fair greens, no gimmicks. Truly a very pleasant experience. Even the cart GPS was accurate!!

Without a doubt, one of -if not the- best golf courses in Southern Calif relating to flowers, color ,water, thick trees flowing water and ponds with well kept fairways of short grass and greens. No brown spots anywhere, greens smooth, fast and uniform from hole to hole. Best to be played in bright sunlight to take advantage of the vivid colors in the flowers, bushes and fairway trees.

Not cheap, but well worth the bucks from time to time.
Not an easy course, but when well played, rewarding and ego boosting in the extreme as reviewed scores provides a sense of accomplishment..
