Carnoustie Golf Links
20 Links Parade
Carnoustie, T7 DD7 7JE, United Kingdom

+44.124.180.2270
One of the most famous links courses in Scotland, Carnoustie has hosted The Open Championship seven times, most recently in 2007 when Ireland's Pádraig Harrington won. (The 2018 Open will be played here, as well.) Allan Robertson (first ten holes) and Old Tom Morris (remaining eight holes) were the original architects here, but the Championship course as we know it today is largely the result of a major redesign by James Braid in 1926.

Also part of Carnoustie is the Buddon Links and the Burnside Course, located at 3 Links Parade.

Visitors are allowed here, but must book and pay for reservations in advance — which can be done on the course web site. Rates vary by season, but the summer walking rate on the Championship Course is £140.

A great experience. Course, history, and clubhouse. A must play

A must play for any discerning golfer. A very challenging golf course but it can live up to its reputation. The staff were very welcoming and the course conditions excellent. Very enjoyable experience, although my golf may not have lived up to the standards of everything else on the day!!

Carnoustie Golf Links should be very proud of the courses and team they have maintaining them.

With our PEAK annual group of 6, amazing setting. Caddies fantastic. Changing conditions perfect.

Take away the history, Hogan's alley and the Barry Burn then it's an average links at best. Nice food at the Half way house, greens were big and undulating. Open back in 2018 so bucket list has been ticked.

Play well and this course is just hard - play poorly and this will live up to the 'Carnasty' name.

A classic course with a ridiculously difficult finishing stretch! Well worth playing though.
One thing I would say is that is has a strange setup, not much of a clubhouse for visitors.

Played with friend for his 50th.
Was in the wind, making it really tough.
Slow play with a lot of visitors clearly struggling with links play in the wind was a wee bit of a bind and did affect the rhythm a bit.
Was amusing to hear a caddie telling a player to 'just use an iron'. No.... really amusing.
Would like another go at the course when I know where I was going, as only the experience of playing it allows you to hit to where you need to be. Greens were a joy even this early.

Magnificent, tough and well worth a visit
