Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Course
London Rd
Apsley, F8 HP3 0AA, United Kingdom

+44 1442.232.220
Three-time Open champion Henry Cotton and architect Donald Steel designed this course, which runs through parkland and woodland copses and includes greens built to the USGA's tri-layer spec. Since the course runs over sub-strata with a constant drainage system, year-round play is possible on permanent tees and greens.

Green fees are £18.50/weekdays and £23.50 weekends. Societies and corporate groups are also welcome; a number of group, stay-and-play, and membership packages are listed on the course web site. Buggy and trolley hire is available, subject to availability.

This course has some newer and easier holes at the beginning, and you really need to score well here as you are likely to find the back 9 considerably more difficult.

Addendum:- Played again (July '17) had an awful round, but the course playe really well and the greens were harder and running well. Still as friendly. Decided this is a course that takes a bit of time to learn and exploit!

There is quite a variety of holes from short to long and the par 3s are by no means easy, even the very short one.

The greens have quite a lot of slopes on them and seem pretty good, (even though they had been hollow tined a week before) and rolled truly. I would imagine that in the summer they would be devillish as they are purportedly much quicker than when we played.

The only negative is the lack of facilities in the clubhouse which lacks a proper bar and no pro shop.

The people on and around the course all seemed pretty friendly and it is certainly a course I would want to play again, though I think a few holes would be played differently with some course knowledge.
