Eagle Creek Golf Club

Ottawa, ON K0A1T0, Canada

For nearly two decades, Eagle Creek Golf Club has offered many advantages: proximity to downtown Ottawa, a serene natural setting, a challenging Ken Venturi course, and a sterling reputation as one of the area's top courses. Now, Eagle Creek offers another significant advantage.

It is the newest member of ClubLink's family of 40 18-hole golf courses in Ontario and Quebec. In 2007, Eagle Creek will operate as a semi-private property, and in 2008 it will become a ClubLink Platinum Member Club. This provides an excellent opportunity for Ottawa area golfers wishing to join a member golf club, especially one known as an icon against which other courses in the region are measured. Not only do golfers get to experience high-quality ClubLink golf, but they also enjoy the variety and flexibility of reciprocal access membership which allows Members to play any of the Clubs within ClubLink's portfolio. Also available is the option to enroll in the Associate Clubs International program offered by ClubCorp, providing Members with access to more than 230 facilities around the world.

Members of Eagle Creek will be able to savour golf at their Home Club and three other quality ClubLink Member Clubs in the immediate vicinity, including Kanata, Hautes Plaines, and Predator and Talon at 36-hole GreyHawk Golf Club. In addition, they have reciprocal access to all of ClubLink's Member Clubs which includes some of Canada's most renowned courses, such as Glen Abbey, King Valley and Heron Point in the Greater Toronto Area, Rocky Crest and The Lake Joseph Club in Muskoka, and Le Fontainebleau and Le Maître in the Greater Montreal Area.

Nestled into a heavily treed valley not far from the parliament buildings, Eagle Creek has been highly regarded by area golfers and in ratings for years, including the 2005 Globe and Mail 100 Best Public and Resort Courses in Canada ranking which named it No. 17 in the country. Ranging from 5,413 to 7,093 yards with four sets of tees, Eagle Creek features gently rolling bentgrass fairways, undulating greens and more than 70 bunkers, as well as many gentle creeks and clear ponds.

Eagle Creek was fashioned from the design vision of legend Ken Venturi, winner of the 1964 U.S. Open, and remains his only design in Canada. Venturi routed the course through 230 acres of mature spruce forest which gives it the feeling of an isolated playground. Eagle Creek offers great variety with plenty of doglegs, short and long holes and risk-reward situations that provide an entertaining test for all levels of golfers. The par-5 18th is one of the best closing holes in the country, daring players to place their drives with precision and then carry a lake fronting the two-level green. In 1996, Andre and Jeanette Lacasse purchased the property. Within a few years, they transformed Eagle Creek into one of Canada's finest courses with extensive upgrades and renovations.

In 2003, they opened the spectacular 20,000 square-foot clubhouse that provided the finishing touch that cemented Eagle Creek's lofty status. The course's reputation grew as it became one of the most favoured venues on the Canadian Tour. It hosted an event in 1992 and the Tournament Players Championship from 1998 to 2001. Former PGA Tour player Ray Stewart exclaimed 'Eagle Creek is certainly one of the finest courses we played on the Canadian Tour.' Veteran Canadian Tour player Phil Jonas said "It is a course that looks like it has been there for many more years than it has been; very natural and beautiful.' Eagle Creek provides an escape into a world of natural beauty and a terrific challenge; a great test of golf. And now it offers the advantage of ClubLink
