This course was remodeled by PGA Tour Design Services beginning in 2000, and re-opened in November of 2001. (Locally-based PGA Tour players Tom Lehman, Billy Mayfair, and Howard Twitty consulted in the redesign.) Many traditional desert features are prominent here, as are over 80 bunkers, while four sets of tee boxes stretch the course from 5,235 to 7,013 yards.

The layout is really appealling but it really can be tough. I am not a fan of the bunkers as they need a lot of work. When we played the fairways were trying to decide which seed was going to take and it caused some wonky shots until I got used to it.

This course was surpisingly challenging and judging by errant balls crossing our fariways, others found it that way also.
