Southern Dunes has a lot of bunkers everywhere you want to hit. The sand in the bunkers are a heavy brown loose sand. I found it hard to hit from because I am not used to the heaviness of the sand. I would play it again because the layout and maintenance of the course is great.

Played this on 11.11.14 and what a stunning course. The course was in excellent condition with incredibly fast greens and enormous bunkers that made it a challenging but enjoyable round. Great value at $54 and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

The fairways were in great shape one of the greens was having major work done and some of the fringes had been repaired
in fact you could proberbly play this course in your barefeet the grass was so soft bunkers nice elevation changes albeit small ones but good for florida water on only one hole only compaint was It was $25 a person and they charged 25 dollars for the ridealong:-( basic gps in carts There is an app for this course or your own GPS and charging points and universal mount in the carts There's a first.

Great Course - love the layout, played in a two day tournament in early May '13. Couple of greens were in bad shape, other than that terriffic course. Lots of sand, if you find yourself on the wrong side of these HUGE greens you've got a long day of putting ahead!! Look forward to playing again.

Our foursome has a 2 dollar side bet for the last guy to end up in a bunker. I won by making it through 6 holes. The conditions at Southern Dunes are always superb and we had a perfect weather day here in the first week of February. The greens are punishingly fast and it slows down the pace for groups who don't like to three putt every other hole. Its a great course that will test your game.

Really liked this place. Beautiful and challenging. Excellent condition. They had overseeded a month or so ago and everything was grown in perfectly. If I hadn't played so poorly, this would have been my favorite on this golf trip. Even so, it was one of, if not the nicest of the five FL courses I played this trip.

Awesome golf course...make sure your sand play is up to snuff if you happen to spray the ball off the tee!!
