Keeping with the true Scottish links tradition, world class architect Bob Moore blended the Outer Banks natural windswept environment into a shot maker's paradise. Coastal winds add to the challenge, prompting Golf Digest to call the Links "the longest 6,126 yards you'll ever play," when featured in 1991. Golf Digest went on to say the holes along the Roanoke Sound are "among the most beautiful in the Eastern U.S."

This was one of the best golf courses I have played. The layout was a challenge and the course scenery was awsome with many holes running right along the sound. The pace of play was right on 4:10 with rangers everywhere moving play along. The service was also top notch. The only down side was the cost ($120) during the middle of summer. I guess you get what you pay for.
