Greens were not in good shape this year. Many water hazards make the course challenging. Lot of animals on the course make the course very special.

Unbelievable scenery here!! And wildlife everywhere -wild turkeys, sheep, mongoose, nenes. The layout allows you to play all the clubs in your bag and forces you to be strategic. The greens were in great shape - a lot of suble undulation - smooth as glass though. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Oh. . . and that island green? Like playing TPC Sawgrass! Well worth the drive up the mountain.

I echo @satuthill comments. We really enjoyed this course, and will plan to play it every time we are on the Big Island. Mahalo for a good experience.

Really an enjoyable course and a great value relative to the resort courses down by the ocean. It is green up there! Wonderful layout and in a peaceful setting. Maintenance seemed to be under control compared to past comments here. Highly recommended and I will go back for sure.

Very fun course. Greens are in great shape but the fairway conditions could be better, but then the price would be higher. They take good care of the environment and the landscaping was done thoughtfully and works well with the natural surroundings. If you are here on vacation make time to play this course.

Beautifully laid out golf course with wonderful views of the mountains and ocean. Challenging course with well placed hazards. Presence of varying types of wildlilfe (especially the trukeys) make the experience even more enjoyable.

Have played it twice and won't go back until someone else buy's it and puts money into it. This layout could be one of the best on the island. The maintenance is what brings it down. Both times I was there the greens were so soggy you would leave footprints if you weren’t careful on how you walked. The fairways were in sad shape and the lakes were only half full or mud pits. I understand that the economy has effected how much many courses can do, but I first time I played there the economy was booming and the course was in terrible shape. If money is your driving factor when playing golf in Hawaii then have at it. If you want to play on a well conditioned course and have a great experience on your well earned vacation, don’t bother, you’ll be disappointed.

I understand this course had some financial difficulty and got some bad reviews as a result.
I played it twice on a recent visit and found it to be a great value.
They still have a bit of work to do on the fairways, but the greens were very good. The hospitality was great and the scenery indescribable.
Dollar for dollar this one can't be beat.
