Mauna Lani Resort offers some unique golf experiences; the North Course was designed by the late Robin Nelson and runs through thick stands of Kiawe (mesquite) trees. Without question, the 17th is a popular place for pictures; the green is tucked into a lava bowl.

The South Course hosted the Senior Skins Game from 1990 until 2000 and features some oceanfront holes - most notably at 15.

In addition, the shorter, family-friendly Keiki Course is also available, as is a teaching academy.

You almost have to play this course twice because the scenery is breathtaking! The layout is pleasant to the eye and no trickery. Greens are generally large and the gentle undulation allows for reasonable but challenging putts. There was only wind on the last few holes in my round and it was more of a breeze than wind. I could play here everyday!!! With the exception of one person everyone greeted you with the aloha spirit.

Both courses are fantastic with great scenery that is very different between the north and south course. The south has more "ocean" golf and the north has more trees. I felt the north course has a more challenging and fun layout with several holes incorporating elevation changes providing some great views. The 17th on the north is neat as it is built into a lava bowl and 15 on the south is as fun as it looks to hit over the ocean. Beverage cart tends to come around 1 -2 times max per round but they give you a decent sized cooler on the cart so be sure to stock up with drinks! Enjoyed playing here and will come again.

Both courses are in great shape and worth the extra cost to play them. I prefer the North course with its more "Walk in the Park" feel and more interesting terrain. Visits by the on course cart beverage carts tend to be few and far between so stock up when you can since you don't return to the clubhouse at the turn.

My favorite course to play in Hawaii. No other course has come close to this one yet (greens, scenery, everything). Highly recommended!
