Skywest Golf Course
1401 Golf Course Rd
Hayward, CA 94541-4619, United States

510.317.2300
This parkland-style course debuted in 1964 with a design by Bob Baldock. The course is aptly-named, given its location immediately west of runways 10L and 10R at Hayward Executive Airport (KHWD), roughly halfway between Interstate 880 and San Francisco Bay, east of Hayward Regional Shoreline.

The non-resident walking rates are $31 on weekdays, then $40 on weekends and holidays (carts are $15). Junior, senior, and 9-hole rates are also avaiable.

Fun course. The trees force a narrow fairway. I wasn't in the sand, but they look pretty hard-packed. Stay in the short grass.

this course we played last year and it was under construction on about 5 greens and that is all done now. WOW, its a really fun course now for sure. the staff is most helpful. the course has tall eucalyptus trees along most of the fairways which also help to cut down on the wind factor. the course also has a couple of lakes and add to the beauty of this course. the greens were a bit bumpy but we did play late in the day on a Sunday. they were very good and were in great shape. the pace of play of great too as we only came up on one 3some and they let us play through. the only thing for this course is that it is at the end of the runway for a small private airport and the planes sometimes sound loud. but overall this course has it all, a great clubhouse and pro shop, and a driving range and a good putting green too. we played the twilight and got on about 3:00 and finished well before sunset. the par 4 are a good test which leaves most over 150yds to the pin. and the sand traps have some of the best sand ever. overall this is a great test or practice course and the value is really good. if your near the Hayward area this is a must play course for you. Straightforward traditional style layout with plenty of trees. Very walkable.
