The course has 2 distinct nines. The front nine is the newer nine designed by Robert Muir Graves. You get great views of the nearby rolling grassy hills in one direction and the delta in the other. None of the holes abut each other.

The back nine is the original nine designed by Alister MacKenzie (yes of Augusta National and Cypress Point fame). The holes do abut each other, but not suffocatingly so. The fairways are tighter on the back and the greens are smaller and more undulating.

The 2 nines blend in really well together (unlike Mare Island where it's two very distinct nines). The holes are relatively short, but my guess is the wind will always be a factor here. The course is fairly hilly, but it's walkable. Other than the first hole on each nine, the holes are quite fun and have plenty of character and variety. As a final bonus, there are no houses that line any of the fairways.

Upon entering the parking lot, don't be fooled by the very bland, temporary looking clubhouse. I was really impressed with the course and the layout. They have a grass range too. What a low key Bay Area gem!
