The course was built on rolling terrain and has small challenging greens and numerous deep bunkers. There are water hazards that come in to play on 6 holes. PGA Sectional tournaments are held annually at Bala, the site of the 1954 US Women's Open. Notable course architect William Flynn's finest design in Philadelphia.
