Whispering Pines
2500 Whispering Pines Dr
Pinckney, MI 48169, United States

734 878-0009
Whispering Pines is a fairly tight course routed through a residential development. The course is not really walkable because of some long stretches between holes. The housing does not intrude and many of the holes have no homes at all. All the fairways are bordered by heavy forest and some holes are like chutes. While it is not an upscale experience, it is a reasonably maintained hilly parkland style course with nice folks in the golf shop and clubhouse. The yardage and slope ratings are misleading and you'll be lucky to shoot your handicap here. Lots of doglegs and layups tend to increase the length of approach shots. The fairways are hilly and sloping, which throws drives off line. There are lots of elevated tees and greens and you're guaranteed to use most every shot you have in the bag. This course is definitely not a course for beginners or high handicappers.

Played in under 3 hours and pretty much had the course to myself. The bent grass fairways were in good shape as were the greens. You need to play here a few times because there are a number of blind shots and lay-up drives required.

Very nice course. Greens were very slow, but everything seemed to be in decent shape. Few bald spots in the rough, but you're not supposed to be there anyway, right? Value was very good because of GroupGolfer.com, so I can't really speak to the value at their normal rates. Overall, I'll likely be back.
