Hiawatha Golf Course will be closed until 2017 for renovations and repairing flood damage that occurred in 2014.
This venerable parkland-style course dates to 1934 and was upgraded between 1993 and 1999 by architects Garrett Gill and Paul Miller. Aside from Lake Hiawatha, which borders holes 2, 10, and 11, the most famous water hazard here is Minnehaha Creek, which comes into play on 11, 12, 13, 16, and 17 before flowing east to Minnehaha Falls and into the Mississippi River.
Hiawatha is owned and operated by the Minneapolis Parks Board. Standard walking rates are $28 weekdays and $32 weekends, although Minneapolis Park Board patron cards are available, which reduce green fees. Juniors holding a valid First Tee card pay $10. The course also hosts many corporate and group outings.

The course is well maintained when I played there was still a bit of flooding on the course on a few holes. The biggest issue I had was a guy on the grounds crew who decided he had to fill up the forward ball cleaner and decided to take a while to get that completed. Which in turn caused a large back up.

Great practice facility. The course itself leaves a lot to be desired. Decent layout, but upkeep is poor even for muni standards.
