Sagamore Golf Club
55 Frank Cameron Rd
Bolton Landing, NY 12814, United States

518.743.6380
Overlooking Lake George, this hillside course was designed and built under Donald Ross's supervision in 1928, and underwent a $75 million restoration in 1985 using Ross's original blueprints. The holes run through an upland meadow, surrounded by white birches and evergreens.

Golf Digest rated this course as the "5th Best Public Course in New York State," while other travel publications have also given high marks to Sagamore.

The course is located just off Frank Cameron Road, west of Federal Hill Road and northwest of the actual resort on Bolton's Landing.

I was looking forward to this course only to be disappointed. The course was fine, nothing special really. They have zero facilities. They had a grill out front of the pro shop next to the sales rack. No locker rooms. We were directed to the toilet for changing rooms.
Best scenery was from the 1st tee box.
The best was, after paying around $250 I asked for directions to the driving range. A staff member asked if I bought balls. It was supposed to be high end but unfortunately its nickel and dime time.
Not a good experience overall.

Great layout. You can sense the history. Holesnare fair but you need to think. Hole 7 is great what a hole from tee to green.
Negative is that it is expensive

Early October in upstate New York can provide for some fantastic scenery, and this course does not disappoint. Fairways and greens are in great shape and the course layout makes you think before pulling the driver out of the bag. The two par fives played more like par fours, but beyond that it is a very challenging round.
