This parkland-style course debuted around 1916 with a design by John L. Black and Jack Furley, although Herbert Fowler oversaw some modifications to the course afterward. From 2004 to 2006, the course underwent a complete redesign and reconstruction overseen by California-based architect Kyle Phillips. In addition to having hosted a "Swing at Cancer" celebrity pro-am, Del Paso CC hosted these championships:

•  1982 U.S. Women's Open  (Janet Anderson)
•  2015 U.S. Senior Open  (Jeff Maggert)
