Jeffrey Brauer and Jim Colbert designed this course, which was built over the former Sierra Blanca Regional Airport. Today, instead of completely flat land, Brauer and Colbert's design rolls and tumbles over mounds and swales, resulting in a rare "mountain links" course.

Weather has made the fairways mostly dirt in large areas... Greens are left long to preserve the moisture, have MANY holes about baseball size that are left since they have grass growing but putting is unreliable! !
