This club formed in 1894, although the current course site dates to 1910. In 1920, British Amateur Champion Walter J. Travis redesigned the course in part to draw Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) events to the course, which finally happened in 1922.
This tree-lined, parkland-style course features a moderate amount of sand, with larger bunkers on holes 4, 6, and 7, while water crosses the 12th and 15th fairways.
The standard walking rates here are $33 weekdays and $40 weekends and holidays; carts are $16. Twilight and senior rates are available. Advance tee-times are highly recommended.

Played on a hot day, not much traffic but the greens were in great shape as were the fairways. Sprinklers kept going on each hole we played from 10 on through 18. Made it tough to hit - had to hit between sprays. Challenging putting, with difficult pin placements but overall a good course.
