On July 24, 1924, Harmon W. Hendricks deeded the Park Commission his mansion. Five years later, this Charles Banks-designed course opened; it is now owned and operated by Essex County Department of Parks & Recreation. Twenty acres of the golf course run over land that once belonged to Soho Copper Corporation, who milled copper for America's first railroad locomotives.

Non-resident walking rates are $35 weekdays and $45 weekends.
