Redwood Golf Course
4345 Redwood Rd
Roscommon, MI 48653-8727, United States

989.821.9821
This 18-hole course was formerly known as Burning Oak Country Club. Ironically, it was the clubhouse — not the oak trees — that burned to the ground on September 1, 2011. (A new clubhouse has since been built.) The course itself debuted in 1965 and still has a fairly open design with gently rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways, and one large pond.

Despite the Roscommon ZIP code, the course actually lies within Markey Township. The public is welcome; the standard walking rates are $15 for nine holes or $23 for 18. With a cart, those rates are $20 and $29, respectively. Memberships are also available.

We had a group of eight people, with five of them being junior golfers. We called ahead, but they were slow, so they just said to show up. We were able to get on the course with no problems. The course is wide open, the fairways were hard and dry. The greens were just fertilized that morning, so they looked really green! When you picked up your ball after putting out, your fingers were blueish green. They were pretty receptive to shots to the green. Green speed was average.
