Not just the average municipal course, Highlands GC was designed by Texas-based architect Jeffrey Brauer, who created something akin to a prairie dunes-style layout that leaves the wind as a major factor. Four sets of tees stretch the course from 5,280 to 7,021 yards.
The standard walking rates are $18 weekdays, $29 on weekends and holidays before 1:00 p.m. (carts are $15). Junior, senior, 9-hole, and twilight rates are also offered.

They were running a special, so play was pathetically slow. I have played Highlands before, and it was exactly as I remembered. A fair test of Prairie Links golf. No need for obscene distance. Great looking course that was in great shape in mid October. I'd love to play there monthly.
