Once a strictly private club, Ann Arbor Country Club tee times are now sold on GolfNow. Membership has fallen dramatically the past several years and the course is often empty.

The original course was built in 1928 and was part of a plan to develop a family resort in the Huron River valley outside Ann Arbor. This plan never prospered but eventually a real estate development (Loch Alpine) grew around the course.

The layout is not long (6,477 yards - 71.7/131 rating) and for the most part it is fairly wide open. The real estate does not intrude on the play. Primary hazards are several streams that wend their way across the course and patches of dense woods or wetland. There is very limited bunkering around the small crowned greens. Hole locations along the edges of the greens make for almost impossible putting.

The course is not easily walkable. Several places have a lengthy travel distance between holes with a couple requiring travel down a fairly busy, winding public road. While the surrounding land is quite hilly, the course mostly stays on the bottom land with very little elevation change (with one notable exception).

The club is tucked away from most major roads. Take I-94 to the Zeeb Road exit (Exit 169) and proceed north. At Joy Road, go right (east). Turn right into Aberdeen and then left on Loch Alpine.
