I play this course fairly often, and it is always fun to play. When the rough is thick and greens running fast, the course plays very challenging. Move to the Black tees and you have a real challenging golf course.

Follows the style and layout of other Montgomery County golf courses in Maryland. Quite open with some wooded areas and little streams. Great condition and value for the Fall season. Pace of play was the only problem for 18 holes.

The course is in great spring condition. A must play for muni golfers. The greens were in lightning condition, easily 11+.

This review refers specifically to the Inside 9 (I haven't played the 18-hole course):
- I have been searching for years for a quick 9-hole option in the area, but there's always been some drawback. Usually if you want low price you have to sacrifice course conditions, or you end up at an executive course that isn't a real test of golf...Or worse, you give up all those things and you still end up waiting on every hole.
Well, at least when I played this place (on a Friday around noon), the Northwest Inside 9 sacrificed nothing. The place was in great shape, it was just about full length (rating from the back tees was above par), and I hopped right on. Not too many people on the course, the pace was solid.
Bottom line, at $15, this is one of the best values in the area, especially for the "extended lunch break" golfer.
