Very nice layout. Greens a tad bumpy but fun course and great shape otherwise. Apparently someone drove a four-wheeler around some of the greens, but nothing too terrible. That's Mt. Airy for you.

excellent value for the money.

Course has obviously been well cared for. Tee to green the course was in excellent condition. Greens were pretty quick, but would hold well struck approach shots and rolled very true. Other than several blind tee shots, the layout was very good. Not overly difficult, but will definitely require you to use your course management skills and probably every club in your bag! Definitely worth playing at least once.

I was actually expecting a lot when I played the Links at Challedon, and while I can't say I was let down, I have to admit, it wasn't quite what I thought it would be.

The course plays very fair and at a decent length. I played the Gold tees which are the 2nd set from the back. The course was generally good to look at but there wasn't anything breathtaking about any of the views.

One thing I was a little confused with at first was the lack of course markers for distances. They mark 150 on everyhole with a black and white striped stake- but after that- you have nothing. Not even sprinker heads. That led to some well struck shots, with bad results. I would score better if I played there again, but it shouldn't have to be a guessing game.

On the positive side, the course was lush and in great condition. The greens were fast and the bunkers filled with fresh sand. The highlight of my round may have been while coming up a fairway on the back 9, a brother and sister of maybe 8 and 10 were selling golf balls across the OB fence to passers by that have been hit into their yard. They also had fresh lemonade. They even had them sorted by brand- 6 for a dollar. It was a steal.

The staff was friendly and I hear this course has a pretty good deal if you have the Golf Card pass. It was a solid course with a quick pace of play. My one reccomendation would be GPS on the carts. If they are looking to keep the course free of markings- they could add that feature. It would go along well with the aura of professionalism they are aiming to have. It is on the verge of being an upscale course- it just needs that one last upscale amenity.
