The best drive off I-95, Cross Creek Golf Club is the latest gem from Ault, Clark & Associates. Players of all ages and skill levels fall in love with our upscale public facility, complete with bentgrass tees, fairway and greens. This wooded 18-hole championship layout, with the Little Paint Branch Creek meandering through the course, several spirited elevation changes and rock outcroppings on several holes create scenery unique to the Mid-Atlantic Region.

well into housing area, but okay. Working on one hole and fairway. Would play again and would recommend to other golfers. 19th Hole close to early (5 PM)

Nice course, well maintained. Tight fairways. Emphasis on ball placement. Not very long but doesnt need to be. Try the Burger and home made chips.

Suburban course through housing development. Tight and tricky. Nice fairways and greens. Lots of variety. Bad sand but they're working on it.

kenjab summed it up well -- tight and tough. You really have to be accurate with your tee shots or you will pay with penalty strokes. It's not that long, but it's very narrow.
On the plus side, I've never seen the course crowded, and they keep it in pretty good shape. The holes are not boring, there's a lot of variety. And the price is pretty reasonable.
On the down side, #14 is the most ridiculous abomination of golf that I have ever encountered. It's not only the longest par 4 I've ever played, it's also the narrowest. BY FAR. It really appears that they ran out of space b/c it's wedged up against the border of the course. So for the whole hole, you are in golf jail -- don't bother with a driver or even a long iron, b/c you will most likely end up in a hazard. Which of course makes it impossible to get on in regulation. The fairway is also pinched in several places so it becomes station-to-station. So if you aren't 100% confident in your ability to hit the targets, the optimal play is probably something like 7i, then 8i, then 9i. I'm sure there are some regulars who've adjusted to it, but if you are playing there for the first time, be warned.
The rating system is a little limited here, b/c I would love to give Cross Creek a 3.5, but I just can't justify a 4. So it gets a 3. If you want a little variety and can deal with some quirks, Cross Creek is a good change of pace.

Tight and quirky. Agree with kenjab. Fun to play now and then, but not as a steady diet.
