The property and course were purchased by the city of Lexington in 1972. The course is located on 125 acres in the heart of Gainesway Subdivision. The facility includes an aquatic center, a large banquet room and short game practice area. It also includes a golf shop and snack bar. The course is described as tight with sloping greens. Course in good shape. Lots of elevation changes. Course is moderately challenging due mostly to length. Good easy day of golf.

This was a great public course.
It is more difficult than the slope would indicate due to all of the trees all around the course. Many were overhanging the fairway.
For a public course, this is a great course. If I lived in the area, I'd play this more often.
Greens were in great condition especially considering that I played it early in the year.
