The longest day of the year meets the hottest day of the year.
The course is great, nice layout with some spectacular holes dotted around.
Like at the recent USGA the "fescue" was very dangerous, although looking wispy, it was almost certainly a lost ball if you ran through to it. With the course so hard after the past 5 days baking it was all too easy to run out into the rough.
The greens were very firm and pretty darn quick. Most of the bunkers were good, though a few had a lot more sand tha others, and sadly groups in front hadn't raked the bunkers too well.
Would I play the course again?
Oh yes, very definitely, but on a cooler day 32c was too hot for 27 holes walking
Oh and the food was very nice too.

Astbury Hall has the potential to be a great course in the coming years. It is quite open so you shouldn't lose too many balls. The tee's, greens and fairways are all in fantastic condition, particularly given the time of the year. It is relatively quite so you should be able to get round quickly, i would doubt you would have a 5hr round here. The green fee is great value and the service is excellent, highly recommended. The only feedback i would give to the club would be 1) You need some benchs on the tee's if nothing more than aesthtics 2) it is missing bin's and ball cleaners, not a single one anywhere on the course. But these do not detract from a very enjoyable course.
