The Prairie Club is a very highly-regarded dunes-flavored facility in northern Nebraska's Sand Hills. Unlike Sand Hills GC in Mullen (48 miles away), the Prairie Club is very much open to the public.
The Dunes Course (Tom Lehman, Chris Brands) winds through the east side of this wind-swept property and reminds of Bandon Dunes in Oregon and the (relatively) nearby Sand Hills Golf Club, outside Mullen, Nebraska. The Pines Course (Graham Marsh) runs through prairie grass and ponderosa pines along the Snake River, with some dunes holes on the second nine.
In addition, a ten-hole "Horse" course (designed by traditionalist architect Gil Hanse) is available. The Horse Course has no tees, only fairways and greens and echoes the basketball game "H-O-R-S-E" in which the winner of the previous hole chooses the location, lie, and green to which his opponents must play.
Finally, Hanse, who is also designing the 2016 Olympic course in Rio) has also designed the Old School Course, which the club plans to build at some point in the relatively near future.
The Dunes and Pines courses are open to the public at $185 (carts are $20), although stay-and-play discounts, same-day reply, twilight, and shoulder-season discounts are available. Memberships are also offered.

Played 32 of the 36 holes with no one in front of me and my caddy. What a treat to be in the solidary bliss of pure golf in the Sand Hills. I would compare it favorablt to Bandon; St Andrews; and Pebble. Just does not have the "brand" recognition.

Stayed here for 2 days and course and staff were great. Both courses are excellent and the lodge was beautiful. Food was only average though especially breakfast, but the golf was fantastic.

Recently played the new courses in the SandHills. Although the club is very new our group was impressed with the condition of both courses. And the par-3 is spectacular. Our caddie was knowledgable of the greens and aiming points and made the experience great. The friendly midwestern staff were outgoing and willing to go the extra mile. This should be a definate stop on your next golf destination.

Very new and raw course. Early development. Staff is very friendly and the course layouts are wonderful. That said... very difficult to find your way around. The courses aren't marked (signs to net tee boxes are nowhere to be found). No distance markers... anywhere... period. Can be a chore just figuring out where to park your cart and get to the green. I hope they iron this out in the near future. $240+ tax with a cart is very very very steep for these courses. Worth a look if you are patient and have to see new courses.
