First time here. Really enjoyed this course. The layout is very good. There are plenty of tee boxes for all skill levels. Some of the white tee par 4's can be long. Course was in very good shape, greens were in great shape. I'll play it again. Definitely need a skycaddie if you haven't played it to see the shape of the holes.

Piper Glen could be a wonderful course, and, with the new Green Superintendent, it is making a strong comeback. But years of benign neglect and serious weather difficulties (i.e., drought and heat) have caused Piper to be down in the heels. The staff could be friendlier, and if you can get on with a discount, it is good to play. Beware, however, some holes are brutal and danger awaits on nearly every shot. Not for the faint of heart.

I LOVE this course. It is one of my favorites in Central Illinois. However, the condition of the course has really suffered in the past two years. The course is fairly difficult and the price is good, but this means too many golfers of average or below average skill playing too close together. Because of this the pace of play is so bad that I've picked up my ball and walked off the course on multiple occasions. 5+ hour rounds are not uncommon. Also, during the summer there are so many outings, that getting on the course can be difficult. The membership cost is low, but the available tee times can be a limiting factor.
