The West Course officially named the Koch course was opened for play in 1965. The addition of the West course resulted in the current club house and driving range being added to the facility as well as a change in the sequence of the holes on the East Course.
The back nine of the West course is generally considered to be the most challenging of the four nines at Park Hills. Although many believe that the front nine is the least challenging, the first hole can give reason to think otherwise and none of the greens on the West are quick to eliminate adventure from your putting experience. - From Park Hills Website

Very good conditions for such an inexpensive course. Greens are on the slow side but there tends to be a fair bit of break, so that probably helps the pace of play. Range was pretty nice, but the range balls were the worst I've seen in a long time.

Hidden gem in Freeport IL. The course plays harder than rated with several par 4's in excess of 400 yards. Hilly and well manicured with lush fairways and fast undulating greens. Hidden water hazards in front of several greens require sound course management. Hit this course over and over.
