Tough course - managed well. I appreciated meeting all support staff that appreciated working there. It was worth the money and everyone in our group loved it. It was a challenging course that challenges an individual to play it again.

Tough short course. While it lacks a little length compared to newer courses, it makes up for this with well positioned bunkers and smaller greens. the only drawback at this time is that while they have updated some of the bunkers, they still have to the rest. Overall a fun and challenging course that is worth the reasonable price.

Course design - Nice layout, interesting design. Don't care for a few homes up tight to the course. #9 and 11 can reach Orchard with an errant shot. Not much of a buffer. Decent shot variety. A lot of water in play. Greens were slow and bumpy at times. Good undulations and slopes. Not a lot of break at these speeds however. No real elevation changes.

Pace of Play - Was great on the front 9. 4-some was gracious and allowed me to play through, 90 min to play the front, 2 1/2 hrs to play the back, came up on brutally slow 3 groups that ground pace to a halt. No starter or ranger on weekday afternoon. Had a chaotic/disorganized feel.

Value - Played at twilight rate $39,a god deal. At the weekend rate not worth it.
Plenty of other course that are better for the money .

Maintenance - Some of the greens were rough shape. I know the course had some trouble earlier in the year. Don't think it ever recovered.

Scenery - Nice scenery except for houses on the course. Bordering along Orchard detracts as well. Remind of several other courses in the area from the 90's.

Amenities - Restrooms with fountains and water stations every 3 holes. Excellent bev. cart service. Bar and restaurant. Pro shop has only apparel. Driving range and putting green.

Overall - Can't imagine what play is like on the weekends if a weekday was this disorganized. Not interested in 5 hr rounds. Nice layout and club house. Would play again if discounted 40-50 range would be about right for this course. Listed on Golfnow.com

Did not care for the blind tee shot on one. A little warning would be nice. Overall an OK course but I wont go out my way to play it again.

Orchard Valley is one of my favorite golf courses in the Chicagoland area. It is always in great condition. The variety of holes is just great. You will use every club in your bag. Very challenging and extremely scenic. An absolutely wonderful golf course.

The only thing that I don't absolutely love about this course is the restaurant and the food at the turn. Course is very fun and challenging, especially like the par 3's over the water
