Cog Hill is widely regarded as one of the finest and most popular high-end courses in Illinois open to the public. Golf was first played here in the Des Plaines River Valley in 1927; four courses are now available, most famously Course No. 4, "Dubsdread," which previously hosted the PGA Tour's Western Open, now known as the BMW Championship.
This privately-owned golf complex is located in a rural setting about 30 miles southwest of Chicago and includes a driving range/learning center, a golf shop, a restaurant and patio, and a 280-seat banquet hall located within the historic clubhouse. The club often hosts weddings, business meetings, and other special events.
Rates shown below are for Courses 1 & 3; walking rates there are $37 / $45. Course No. 2 is $57 walking, $73 riding. The famous Dubsdread course is $155 and includes a cart, range balls, and a laser distance-finder.

Played Dubs Dread. Great old time parkland track. Elevated greens, finger-bunkers everywhere. Not visually imposing, but yet tough to put up a good score. Paid $150, but definitely worth it at least once.

Very enjoyable round of golf on the Ravines course. Everyone from the Pro shop to the restaurant staff and starters very cordial. Defiantly top 5 of courses I have played.

Great 'old school' course, No 2. Poor mans Dubsdread. Some elevation changes, not a long course but in good shape. Greens were thick in slow at the start of 2012 season. No bev cart service. Half way house at No 12.
