Grayhawk Golf Club
8620 E Thompson Peak Pkwy
Scottsdale, AZ 85255-9141, United States

This facility has two excellent 18-hole courses, both of which have ample amounts of rough lining the TifDwarf Bermuda fairways.

The Talon Course is a co-design between architect Gary Panks and David Graham, and features large, elevated greens. Water is in play on only two holes, but the most difficult hole is #6, a 459-yard, par 4, requiring a long straightaway tee shot in order to make a par or birdie. The 17th is a 126-yard par-3 to an island green. The most notable hole might #11, a 175-yard par-3 called "Swinging Bridge," which requires a carry over a desert hollow and a deep front bunker to a wide and deep green, which has two levels.Golf Magazine ranked Talon 47th among the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in their U.S." for 1998.

Tom Fazio's Raptor Course opened in 1995 and features a large lake adjacent to the clubhouse and the 18th hole, a 521-yard par-5. The course hosted the former Andersen Consulting World Match Play Championship during the 1990s.

Rates vary by season and are posted on the club's web site.

Fabulous all-around experience, from hospitality, accessible amenities, etc.. oh and two of the nicest golf courses I've ever played. I now make it a point to play a Grayhawk course every time I'm in Scottsdale.

Talon is tighter but green complex are more receptive than the more open but difficult Raptor which has more hidden trouble. Very firm greens with very deep bunkers and elevated greens. Seems to be somewhat overrated.

Great track, little pricy.... We played in early feb 2013 and greens were a little rough. Still great course and on site staff were very friendly.

great track with very slow play. typical resort with yahoos dragging their heals and rangers not up to the task of keeping play moving. Not worth the full price.

very challenging course. I hit lots of greens but never held up and deep bunkers arounds every green. Beautiful course and fun to play. I highly recommend this great desert course.

Played this course while on a short vacation in Scottsdale in Oct. This was a 1st class experience from the bag drop attendants greeting all the way through the attendants cleaning and packing the clubs after the round. All facilities were what you'd expect of a first rate resort course. The practive facilities were in prime condition with rangeball pyramids rebuilt regularly. the practice greens played the same as the greens on the course. I played the more difficult Talon Course. The course was immacutely maintained. The fairways were generous enough for an average handicapper with 1" to 2" inch rough being just penal enough. Bunkers were very deep and filled with deep, fluffy sand. The greens were spacious with a lot of undulation. The only drawback I experienced (at all 3 courses I played) was, it seems the entire state of Arizona overseeds the beginning of October, therefore play was cart path only and greens were slow (but rolled very true). Truly a first class (but a tad pricey) experience.
